Inspiration, birthplace of ideas
Hallucinations, Daydreams, Nightmares and Waking Visions spanning 150 million years dominate the work of the Exaggerated Realist and Thought Contortionist, Kerklin Crawford

Biography
Kerklin Crawford began writing and illustrating storybooks regularly as a 1st grader in Tallahassee, FL. His family relocated to Portsmouth, VA and he began exhibiting, both regionally and state sponsored, as a High School sophomore prior to taking any formal art classes - he utilized lunch and study hall periods to produce work which garnered him prizes, statewide recognition and above all, assurrance.
While studying Fashion Illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University Kerklin developed a relationship with the Dean of the School of the Arts who suggested he start painting.
Upon completing his BFA he began painting and soon afterwards opened an art gallery in the historic Shokoe Bottom area of Richmond, VA. "ZooToo - Gallery in the Bottom". There he provided local artists with studio and exhibition space.
Kerklin then moved to the Washington DC metro area where he assisted two other dedicated artists in forming the Transcendental Arts Council - a non-profit, mainly surrealist artist group which continues to thrive today. Kerklin Crawford continues to exhibit in the Washington DC area and is always receptive to collaborative projects.
