priyadarshi gautam Biografie

Born in 1970, Delhi, a self-taught artist painting impressionistically, mainly in oils, inspired by Mother Nature. Earned a Law degree from Delhi University and yet decided to dedicate life to art. Aim is to promote humanity’s connection to its natural environment so that people stop neglecting Nature in pursuit of narrow worldly pursuits.

Shown works in solo art exhibitions, group shows and participated in National Art Exhibitions organized by All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS), Lalit Kala Academy and Camlin (New Delhi). Works have been hailed by important media outlets, including The Times of India, The Statesman, The Pioneer, Hindustan Times, Navbharat Time and Nai Dunya and are part of many private collections abroad and in India, including H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa.

In 2010, for painting White Veil, was awarded the JEDIKA Fine Arts Award for Excellence in Landscape Painting at RedBubble.com, a prominent art site. Another painting ‘Lady in the Garden 2’ was selected for the 2012 Calendar published by ArtWanted.com. Works have also been on auction for the Environmental Charity via Christie’s, the most prestigious international purveyor of fine art.

Also a poet, first Hindi compilation being ‘Teen Samvednayein’ was published in 2010. Favourite artists are Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, Camille Pissaro, Caspar David Friedrich, Jacob Van Ruisdael, Issac Levitan and John Constable.
